  • "The proteomic biosignature of ME/CFS in the cerebrospinal fluid shows the (quote) "unbelievable" finding of unique markers that are complete ly absent from the control group; several proteins suggest amyloid deposition in the blood vessels of the brain, causing micro - haemorrhaging that occurs in conditions of chronic inflammation; another protein suggests increased rates of apoptosis (programme d cell death); another protein that was found suggests problems with vasoconstriction and endothelial damage; one protein that was found is associated with inflammation of the leptomeningeal cells in the membranes covering the brain and spinal cord"
